Materials Required:

Small amount of Bernat Sox yarn (or any fingering weight yarn)

3 mm needles (or size required to achieve gauge)

2 stitch markers

Gauge:

The gauge I achieved with 3mm needles is 24 stitches - 32 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) even though the gauge on the yarn used is 28 stitches - 36 rows = 4" (10 cm) using 3.25 mm needles.

Abbreviations: PSSO Slip one stitch (knitwise) knit the next stitch then pass the slipped stitched over the knitted stitch

Using 3mm needles and Bernat Sox yarn (or any fingering yarn), cast on 33 stitches.

Knit first 10 rows.

Row 11: K14, K2 together, K1, PSSO, K14.

Rows 12 - 14 - 16 - 18- 20: Purl

Row13: K13, K2 tog, K1, PSSO, K13
Row 15: K12, K2 tog, K1, PSSO, K12
Row 17: K11, K2 tog, K1, PSSO, K11

Row 19: K10, K2 tog, K1, PSSO, K10
Row 21: Knit
Row 22: Purl

Row 23: Knit

Row 24: Purl

Row 25: *K1 P1* repeat between ** across row ending with a K1.

Row 26: *P1, K1* repeat between ** across row ending with a P1.

Row 27: same as Row 25.

Row 28: same as Row 26.

Row 29: same as Row 25.

Row 30: same as Row 26.

Row 31: same as Row 25.

Row 32: same as Row 26.

Bind off in pattern.

Break yarn leaving a tail long enough to sew up back seam and sole of bootie.

Sew up back seam and bottom of bootie.

Fold cuff down.
